Arwen's Fate
By Clyryan Long Cleve

In the fair days of her immortal life, Arwen Undómiel went against her father's wishes. Two roads were spread before her feet: one, to follow her kin to the Valinor, The Undying lands and live happily forever where her life will always blossom, while her beauty would never fade. Or to marry the heir of Isildur, Aragorn, son of Arathorn. And so she did. Long her conscience hunted her, long did her father, Lord of Imladris, persuaded her, but in vain. She freed herself from the sorrow, grief, and despair over her chosen life, but Elrond, he knew, he foresaw. Upon all the stories of grief and sorrow, nothing would've come close to the fate of his daughter. Nothing.

On Mid-Years day in 3019, the wedding of Elessar and Undomiel took place after the War of the Ring in Minas Tirith. Their dreams came true and sufferings forgotten. Their hopes came alive and sorrow left Middle-Earth the moment Barad-Dûr fell. Their presence was respected, love-cherished. Arwen felt herself being lifted up to the stars, to the dreams, hopes, and love. She felt full of joy that her life will always be that way, with Aragorn, always by his side, never leave him. Aragorn was, too, experiencing at that moment the life of dreams. He beheld a vulnerable beauty, an Elven beauty, yet wise beyond her years. She was Undomiel, Evenstar of his heart.

Time passed, and Elves, along with Elrond, Galadriel and her beloved Celeborn, left the shores of Middle-Earth to the Undying Lands, never to grow old, never experience the other journey of life: death. Arwen felt their leaving and felt the wind course change into the west. It was telling her that it is not so late. She can still come and live a life where it will be evergreen. She ignored the sign. She had made her choice, she can't go back.

Aragorn noticed the sadness that hangs across her flawless face. He knew it was at that day when she could've saved herself, sailed across the Sea. He wished that, yet against his heart. He loved her and wanted to see her cheerful, but on that day, September 29, Year of 3021, was the ending of Third Age and the Evenstar, the beautiful jewel that she gave him, which resembles her beauty, her love, was fading, but not for long. Their first child was born, their heir, Eldarion. Arwen was smiling again. She forgot her sorrows and darkened thoughts. She only devoted time to her family. Eldarion, at the age of four, started receiving lessons form his father and the Steward of Gondor, Faramir, son of Denethor. They trained him how to fight, how to use a bow and find tracks. Arwen, meanwhile, gave him proper lessons on history, literature, and languages. Their son became wiser, in his mind and skills, but he was not the last royal child. While Eldarion grew, time passed, and with time, six more daughters in the halls of Kings.
